KapFoil 5.0

First testflight of my new Kapfoil 5.0 (Bought at Kapshop) .
I was quite uncertain about the behaviour of the kite after reading the comments on the Kapforum.
Now, After my first testflight within a windrange of 15km/h upto 30km/h - 200 meter line out, I can confirm, that this kite is doing exactly what I was expecting of this kite (based on my positive previous experience with the smaller kapfoil version)...  It has a nice strong (but not exorbitant) pull; For sure not more than my big holy man roks!  It will rise high...but that is exactly what I am looking for.   Strong enough to lift my RIGs with low winds.
So nothing else than positive feedback!!

Width: 240 cm / 94"
Height:  200 cm / 79"
Sail:  Ripstop Nylon
Line rec.: Polyester 150 kg / 330 lb.
Wind range: 2-6 Bft. (7-45 km/h / 4-28 mph)

Zierikzee

We had a great afternoon flying our kites above Zierikzee. A very friendly place in Zeeland (Oosterschelde).
Later that afternoon we were invited for a drink on the sailing boat of Peter (noordzeezeilcharter).  He anchored just in front of our Kap place.
A few other places in the neighborhood worthwhile to visit:
- Paal
- Rilland
- Landscape
- Domburg

Paal

Paal, a beautiful place in Zeeland..just near the  Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe    Paal is situated on the 'Westerschelde' (Flemish side).
Here some picture of the small harbor that you only can enter with high tides.

I just discovered that my friend Frank was flying his KAP kite to close to mine ;-).

  •  A set of carabiners
  • A prusik Katrol Petz (to bring your kite down easily)
  • A Christian Becot hook. very easy very hand instead of using a prusik knot

Traces

 Just for fun...

To make these pictures, I used a camera (Canon G15) lifted at 150 meter high by a kite (strandvlieger). This technique is called Kite aerial photography (KAP). The kite is attached and secured to my body.  In this case the lifting power was produced by a red Maxi Dopero.
The camera rotates and is triggered automatically, but I can take over all functionalities from the ground.   Yes, I do see what the camera is shooting (video downlink) .
