Sluisdeuren gearriveerd in Deurganckdok

A ship called the Zhe Hua 15, carrying the giant lock gates  (sluice)  and bridges for the Deurganck-dok has today arrived in the Waaslandhaven. The ship with the parts as the largest lock in the world began its journey on April 7 in China. The ship is now in the Deurganckdok in Antwerp.   We made these pictures with a camera hanging under a kite at  a 150m high.

witte wieven

Omnichem

To make these pictures, I used a camera (Canon G15) lifted at 150 meter high by a kite (strandvlieger). The kite is attached/and secured to my body.  In this case the lifting power was produced by a red rokkaku kite.
The camera rotates and is triggered automatically, but I can take over all functionalities from the ground.   Yes, I do see what the camera is shooting (video downlink) .

surfingelephant KAP IV

The Tahara movie

I was looking for a new single line kite that was applique friendly to replace the Delaporta shape  (see link).      It was during a fun afternoon flying /fighting my custom made Tahara of Carl Longbottom that I was thinking... this should be a great surface to make a new applique!   But a fighter kite is not the best show kite.  It moves in all (controlled) directions....
Based on the plan of Leon Chee Wan and the long discussions we had on how to increase the speed and the reaction time of the Tahara fighter, I know what to do to avoid all this and get it stable..... ;-)
