Doel

The weather is getting better, so we took out our KAP equipment.

Pictures taken with a Canon G15 /ClickpanPro / downlink at a 100M high.   The church in Doel is still a nice place for the time being. (Doel is threatened with complete demolition due to the future enlargement of the harbour).

Finally I discovered a way to upscale a small drawing to a kite size.
The orginal drawing wasn't bigger than 10 cm.  I was able to scale this up to 90cm without loosing the (pixel) details.
Next week, I can start hot cutting the fabric.

My new  (90 x 90 cm) della porta kite with a tail of  7meter.The sail is made of  a mix of 2 kinds of fabric (ELLTEX) grey and (SKYTEX) black . 

The technique is based on what I learned over the past months of Christian Baden Powell.
You start with a 100% scaled drawing of the design.  Put this drawing on your light table and
 fix a piece of black fabric onto the drawing. Press down well.

Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe

This is a swamp known as the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe (Verdronken land van Saeftinghe) and an official nature reserve area. The land is a crosspoint where the Schelde meets the salty waters of the North Sea in the estuary Western Schelde.

 The bridge in winter time.  I was often driving on the highway next to this bridge. Now, I took the time to stop and take some KAP pictures. I love those winter colors.

The Midi Feather

My new indoor kite; The Midi Feather, should arrive this week as a late birthday present.The Midi Feather, designed by Damon Meheux is extremely light (under 0.2g) and has been made with the lightest possible materials. I got the opportunity to fly it in Bintulu  and I was immediately hooked on it.   Soon I wil post some videos, Thanks Damon for your creation!!
